We’ve been through highs together, 

we’ve been through lows, 

We’ve stunted each other, 

we’ve made each other grow, 

She’s carried our children, 

I’ve kept us in the black, 

I’ve pushed her to breaking point, 

and she’s pushed back, 

And you’d be excused 

for thinking we’ve got it made, 

But when a certain issue 

gets us in its claws, 

We both go deaf, 

we both go blind, 

We both betray 

our hearts and minds, 

In the service of a divisive 

and damaging cause.
